When driving in this area, you'll see signs warning of moose crossing the roads. Today we saw 2 females grazing near the side of the road, and I used my 300 lens to get this shot of one of them. Lindy has a family of moose in her neighborhood, and she has seen one of them run. People are pretty careful when driving by them, for good reason. Also, one of her friends had one on his back porch, eating the leftover Halloween pumpkins.
Beaman's is this random store with lots of odds and ends on the lower floor and skis and bikes to rent upstairs. I learned that people in Alaska do ride bicycles with studded tires even in the winter...that's something I haven't seen in Nashville! =)
